In the early 1960's on a small canal in the swamps of South Louisiana, a little boy sat on a dock with a Zebco rod and reel catching small bream, perch, and an occasional gar or choupique and threw the bream into the bucket until it held dozens of swimming fish. At the end of the day, he dumped it back into the canal and did it again the next day, very likely catching the same fish! A lot of years have passed since then and since this time, that kid has done a lot of fishing! From the swamps and lakes of Louisiana, across the Gulf Coast, to the mountains of North Georgia, Montana, and Wyoming every cast added a bit more salty or murky water into his lifeblood. Of course, that kid was me and although I'm not a kid anymore, I'm still a kid at heart. Nothing makes me happier than to head to the water and catch fish. Many of the times, I have one or more of my six grandsons at my side testing my patience as much as the fish do!
